Halifax, June 23, 2017 – Air passenger rights advocate Dr. Gabor Lukacs announces the launch of community-funded website for Canadian travellers, featuring step-by-step guides and FAQs for dealing with airlines.
"I kept getting the same questions and hearing about the same issues," says Dr. Lukacs, co-founder of the Air Passenger Rights (Canada) Facebook group, numbering over 4,000 members. "So, we collected the answers, and made them available to everybody. Free of charge."
The website, which includes downloadable letter templates, has been developed with the help of donations from the travelling public, without governmental or private sector funding. "This is just the beginning," explains Dr. Lukacs. "We plan to expand the website and make it fully bilingual, and are grateful for the continued support of the travelling community."
Since 2008, Dr. Lukacs has filed more than two dozen successful complaints against airlines with the Canadian Transportation Agency, and won several court cases against the regulator itself. His advocacy in the public interest and expertise in the area of air passenger rights have been recognized by the consumer rights community, the courts, and the legal profession.
