I need advice - at the end of July I traveled from Calgary to Kyrgyzstan for a tour. My flight was delayed due to a mechanical issue in Calgary and I missed all my connections. Next there was a problem with how I was rerouted. In the end I arrived Aug 1 rather than July 29. I lost my airport pick up, a hotel night pre-tour, 3 days of my tour and had to pay $150 for a car to drive me to meet my tour group. It doesn’t look like trip interruption insurance will cover the losses or expenses and not sure if I can press the airline. Any thoughts? I figure I’m out about $900.

Gabor Lukacs It is the airline that has to pay compensation in such situations, as per Article 19 of the Montreal Convention: https://www.facebook.com/notes/air-passenger-rights/how-to-seek-compensation-for-damages-caused-by-flight-delay/1821704514770668
